Did you do anything special for your New Years Manicure??

Deborah Lippmann - Edge of Glory

So today is a really special post. Well special in the fact that I now own not one, but TWO, Deborah Lippmann nail polishes. My sister is on a roll with presents. She got me this for Christmas from Gaga's Workshop in Barney's. It is the Edge of Glory 3D Holographic Lacquer box set. I am in love.

I used two coats of the Edge of Glory black base color and two coats of the holographic top coat. Both polishes went on like a dream. Wait.. Am I dreaming? Do I really own these beauties?! Yes, yes I do.

It came in this really pretty box below.

Below are a bunch of pictures showing off this holographic good-ness.

Here are some close up shots

Was anyone else fortunate enough to pick this box set up? I hope so you will not regret it!!

Collection Update :)

Now that I am home for winter break my polishes have a new home :) I'm actually really liking the set up wish I could bring my vanity back to school with me!

I'm also going to be updating my collection list tomorrow so feel free to check that out :) I'll have the list link back to swatches and what not.

Does anyone else store their polishes similarly? If not, how do you organize your collection?

Revlon - Whimsical

Queue music...

Hii Everyone!

This is Revlon's Whimsical. I searched high and low for this one and couldn't find it anywhere, but luckily my mom picked it up for me! This is three coats over Essie's Borrowed and Blue.  Whimsical is a soft shimmery blue jelly based polish with large pink and blue hexagonal glitters, and smaller silver hex glitters. Revlon Whimsical is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In The Air which sadly I do not own to compare but have heard it's a pretty good dupe which is why I'm so excited to have this version!

I haven't tried this without a color base but I would assume this polish would be best with layering since the jelly base is a bit translucent. The application was smooth and the glitter's stayed on the nail rather than clinging to the brush.

Essie - Shine of the Times

This is from Essie's Luxe Effects Collection Shine of the Times. It is a flake glitter and changes shades based on what base color you use and lighting. I layered this over China Glaze's Sea Spray. Below are a few more pictures :)

I seriously love flake top coats.

China Glaze - Sea Spray

China Glaze Sea Spray this polish is a really pretty dusty blue with a soft shimmer. Sea Spray is from the Anchor's Away Spring 2011 collection. The application was really great and only took 2 coats for full opacity.

Latest Haul

Finally finished transferring my Tumblr posts. So from here on it will be new posts :)

I was on the hunt for Revlon Whimsical and it was sold out EVERYWHERE. I literally went to 10 different stores, so instead I got all these polishes. A lot of them were on sale and I found coupons in the mail so that was exciting.
