Day 11 - Polka Dot Nails

I think I still have yesterdays theme stuck in my head. I wanted to do something different for Polka Dot nails, but in the end polka dot nails are pretty boring. I chose pinks because I thought maybe it would be nice look for Valentine's day.

For this mani, I started with a base of Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme and from light to dark were Zoya Ginessa, Bebe, and Renee.

Christmas Water Marble

I forgot how much I loved water marbling. For this marble I used the following polishes:

• Base Color - Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Pink Slip
• Wet n Wild Wild Shine -  Jezebel
• Scherer Chameleon - Galactic

Zoya - Noel

Hii, if you haven’t seen my Birchbox post yet or didn’t feel like reading it because it was a million miles long here is the polish I got!

It’s Zoya in Noel from the Gems & Jewels Holiday 2011 Collection.

It’s a shimmery denim blue and has a major pop of color!

The application was great and it only took 2 coats for full opacity. I love it! I actually just decided to buy the Gems collection, so I can’t wait to get them in the mail!!

Party of Five Glitters is really hard to work with in my opinion. It was really difficult to get the bigger silver hexagonal glitter onto my nails. The glitter definitely goes on sparingly. At least it is pretty!

I really liked the way this turned out. e.l.f.’s Nude is great! It only took 2 coats for full coverage and didn’t look streaky or anything like that. The brush is a bit stiff, but that really helped (me at least) keep the polish on my nails and not all over my fingers. I used a Palladio fast dry top coat, which surprisingly worked pretty well. I wouldn’t say it is as great as Seche Vite, but it dried pretty quick. Palladio’s just doesn’t have that super glossy look that SV has.

I used tape and one coat of Wet n Wild’s Rain Check. It is a metallic bluish-grayish-lilac. Depending on the light it can be any of those colors. I really liked it!

Sinful Colors Nail Art in flower girl was okay. It was a bit watery making it a little hard to control. Obviously if you have too much polish on the brush the line gets thicker, but you could try to get the least amount of polish and it would just run down the brush pretty quickly. [Hope that makes sense!]

Overall, I love e.l.f. Nude and Wet n Wild Rain Check! The Sinful Colors nail art is okay, but worth the $2 price tag. 

Wet n Wild - Teal of Fortune

Hii, today’s manicure is Wet n Wild’s FastDry - Teal of Fortune. I’m not really sure how I feel about this polish. It is a jelly-ish polish and after 3 coats was still pretty translucent. I also found it has a longer drying time than the other 2 I have swatched, Hannah Pinktana and Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire. I really like the color but thought it would apply differently. All in all I like the color, I would just suggest letting it fully, fully dry in between coats. Otherwise you’ll notice that if you touch your semi-dry nail (after a few coats) the polish wipes off your finger in a sheet. Really annoying. 

Since this polish is only $1.99 it’s hard to REALLY complain, but if you are deciding between glittery colors in this collection I would definitely recommend Hannah Pinktana and Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire.

• Wet n Wild Fast Dry - Hannah Pinktana

I really love the color of this polish. It is a lot like “Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire” . This polish takes a lot of coats for full opacity. I think I used around 5. I just kept adding throughout the day until it was the color I wanted. 3 coats and it was still a bit transparent and around 5 or 6 it looks like this, so you can decide as you go how many coats you want to use :) It dries so fast that it doesn’t feel like you have that many coats, nor does it get streaky or thick. This is without a top coat, but I used a Seche base coat.

 I was so in love with Blue Wants to be a Millionaire that I went back to get Hannah Pinktana. But then I saw all these other pretty colors and got them all. I couldn't resist.

Wet n Wild - Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire

This is Wet n Wild Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire from their Fast Dry collection and it is AAAAMAZING. I love this nail polish. It is so sparkly and beautiful. 

It took quite a few four coats to reach this color, but was completely worth the time and polish. The application was great although it took me a few minutes to get used to the angled brush. I actually ended up really liking this style of brush though, I felt I got a much cleaner manicure. Either that or I was trying so hard to get used to it that I managed to stay in the lines.

So I actually bought all of these polishes at ShopRite. I was really excited to see they had Matte About You in stock! I can never find it anywhere. They were pretty much stocked on all of the brands they carried.
