Day 23 - Inspired by a MOVIE

I'm back! Well, sort of. I have a lot of catching up to do, but hopefully I'll have some posts up within the next few days.

Day 23's theme is inspired by a movie. Do you ever have a movie that you could literally watch everyday and not get sick of it? Well, for me that movie is Country Strong, among a few others. My sister and I have watched this movie an unhealthy amount of times. I know all of the songs by heart and most of the screenplay. I have a problem. Whatever, this movie is just so good.

So I decided to use it as my inspiration. If you haven't seen the movie, go watch it. If you have seen the movie, go watch it again.

Thumb: Movie Title
Pointer: Guitar and music note
Middle: Bottle of vodka (yup)
Ring: Silver star -- like the earrings Chiles wanted when she was a kid
Pinky: Plaid.

Day 22 - Inspired by a SONG

For today's post, I honestly had no idea what song to pick. I had no clue. Until I looked at my desk and realized the perfect song. Like the true college student that I am, I have a solo cup near at all times. So then I thought of Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup. LOL. This song is so ridiculous. Kind of like my nails.

So here is today's manicure! And by today, I mean this should have been posted yesterday.

Down at the bottom you can watch Red Solo Cup if you have not yet heard the song, and also there is a picture of where I originally saw the beer pong outline.

Polishes Used: For my thumb nail, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and ULTA Non-Stop Red for the lettering. For my pointer, middle and ring fingers I used Non-Stop Red, ULTA Blue Streak, and a white acrylic paint for the person and pong ball. For my pinky finger I used a Color Club red nail art and Sally Hansen Wet Cement for the base color.

Day 21 - Inspired by a COLOR

Hi Everyone! Don't hate me! I promise to be back up to date soon. This weekend was so hectic.

So for the manicure, I wasn't really sure what "Inspired by a COLOR" meant. I was looking through my colors and picked up China Glaze's For Audrey. This is one of my favorite polishes, and has always reminded me of robin's eggs. So what did I do? I drew a bird with a nest of robin's eggs.

I used e.l.f.'s Smoky Brown as a base and black Stripe Rite nail art for the branches. As for the nest, I just added some white to the Smoky Brown. For the flower petals I used Zoya's Erika and

Day 20 - Water Marble

Here is Day 20 water marble. I used OPI Strangers Tides, Go On Green and The Color To Watch.  It ended up a bit lighter than marbles I usually do.

I did a tutorial on marbling a while back, but here is the link if you would like to follow it!

Update

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to post and say hi and welcome to all my new followers! I really appreciate all the feedback you have been leaving and am so happy with the friends I have made so far!

I also wanted to let you know that my semester has just begun so I may be a little behind with the 31 day challenge. I am in a sorority and recruitment begins this weekend. If anyone else is in greek life you will know what long days and hectic hours I am talking about.

I will try to keep up though! Stick around. I may not finish this challenge in 31 days, but I will finish it!

Talk to you all soon!!

Day 18 - Half Moon

Ahh! Late again. Classes have officially started. I have a feeling you will be seeing my late apologies a few more times. Of course the only first thing I unpacked was my nail polish. I started pulling the boxes out and my roommate was like seriously just give up on Engineering, just go to cosmetology school. haha I wish.

So here is my half moon mani! I used Julep's Maria and Whitney and a Stripe Rite Silver liner between the two.

Whitney is a smokey beige and is really a beautiful color. It's the perfect creme formula in my opinion. I used two coats of Whitney.

Maria is a foil/chrome finish rose. It initially reminded me of butter LONDON's Fairy Lights, but I think butter LONDON's has more lavender/purple tones.

I like this mani! and LOVE my new Julep colors.

Check and see what the other girls did for yesterday's challenge!

Day 17 - Glitter Bomb Nails

Back up to speed and I renamed today's challenge to Glitter Bomb nails. FYI.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but in case you were wondering this is three coats of Color Club Sugarplum Fairy with one coat of Essence Hello Holo Special Effects Topcoat.

Gah. I love this nail polish. As a side note, if you can't find Color Club, but you are able to locate Funky Fingers... Sugarplum is the exact same color. EXACT SAME. I only know this because I already own Sugarplum and when I was organizing my polishes they ended up next to each other and I noticed they had the same name and coincidentally are made by the same company. Forsythe Cosmetics or something like that. Kind of messed up since Funky Fingers polishes are 3 for 5$ or something like that and Color Club retail for around 3$ each.

Be sure to check and see what the other girls did for today's theme!
