Day 28 - Inspired by a FLAG

School has been crazy these past few weeks. Exams are starting which totally sucks the life out of me. I am hoping to finish up with my challenge posts before the end of the month. Woah, dream big!

For today's post I really wanted to do Harry Potter flags, but I couldn't bear to put them on my nails only to have them chip. So I did them on a nail wheel and I'll post those later!

For the challenge though, I decided on Argentina's flag. It's a simple white and sky blue striped flag with a sun in the center.

I didn't really do the sun justice, but I did my best!

I used China Glaze Sea Spray for my base and China Glaze White On White for the stripe. For the sun I used Orly Spark.

Day 27 - Inspired by ARTWORK

Hi!

For today's manicure I was seriously hung up on doing something wild like Van Gogh's Starry Night or a famous Picasso painting, but instead I went into an entirely different direction.

I still plan on painting Starry Night in the future, but I figure that would take too much time for me to do it justice.

So I went with an untitled painting by Atsuko Tanaka.

It isn't something I would usually look at and think it would look nice on my nails. But I went with it anyway.

I don't know what to think of this mani. I'm just not sure if the painting really translates well into nail art. I'm constantly looking at everyday objects and being like wow that would look so cool on my nails. haha I can't be the only one that does this... I used China Glaze White On White and China Glaze Liquid Leather.

Day 26 - Inspired by a PATTERN

Hi Everyone!

Here is the mani for inspired by a pattern. I wasn't inspired by a particular print but I decided to use my new stamping plates I bought from BornPrettyStore! I love all of my plates and this company!!

I ended up using a lighter color on the paisley stamp and it was a little faded so I just traced over with the blue stripe rite.

Weee! I'm almost done!! How exciting :)

Day 25 - Inspired by FASHION

After looking through Spring runway collections, I decided to go with a piece from Dior.

I used a base color of China Glaze Sea Spray and then added different color blocks using Scherer Chameleon in Dreams, Galactic, Blue Frost. For the black squares I used a black Color Club nail art and Deborah Lippmann Edge of Glory flakey polish. :)

Going along with this theme, here is a picture of the world map! My roommates and I are deciding where we want to travel and places we've already been.

We just bought it yesterday, so we aren't even close to noting all the places we've been. This whole map is going to be filled with places we want to go.

Day 23 - Inspired by a MOVIE

I'm back! Well, sort of. I have a lot of catching up to do, but hopefully I'll have some posts up within the next few days.

Day 23's theme is inspired by a movie. Do you ever have a movie that you could literally watch everyday and not get sick of it? Well, for me that movie is Country Strong, among a few others. My sister and I have watched this movie an unhealthy amount of times. I know all of the songs by heart and most of the screenplay. I have a problem. Whatever, this movie is just so good.

So I decided to use it as my inspiration. If you haven't seen the movie, go watch it. If you have seen the movie, go watch it again.

Day 22 - Inspired by a SONG

For today's post, I honestly had no idea what song to pick. I had no clue. Until I looked at my desk and realized the perfect song. Like the true college student that I am, I have a solo cup near at all times. So then I thought of Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup. LOL. This song is so ridiculous. Kind of like my nails.

So here is today's manicure! And by today, I mean this should have been posted yesterday.

Down at the bottom you can watch Red Solo Cup if you have not yet heard the song, and also there is a picture of where I originally saw the beer pong outline.

Polishes Used: For my thumb nail, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and ULTA Non-Stop Red for the lettering. For my pointer, middle and ring fingers I used Non-Stop Red, ULTA Blue Streak, and a white acrylic paint for the person and pong ball. For my pinky finger I used a Color Club red nail art and Sally Hansen Wet Cement for the base color.
